Ohio's HB 755 was introduced during the 2026 legislative session and is actively moving through committee review. If passed, it would legalize plug-in solar in Ohio, allowing small solar systems to connect to standard household outlets without utility approval, permits, or an electrician.
Until Ohio passes the bill into law, plug-in solar sits in a legal gray area: utilities can require interconnection review, permits, and fees.
