If signed into law, it would legalize plug-in solar in Massachusetts, allowing small solar systems to connect to standard household outlets without utility approval, permits, or an electrician.

Until Massachusetts passes the bill into law, plug-in solar sits in a legal gray area: utilities can require interconnection review, permits, and fees.
